Medieval Wedding

I guess Autumn is not a traditional time for weddings, but the seasonal colourings really suited the wedding I photographed on Saturday.
Dell and Mervyn chose the Ferny Creek Recreation Reserve hall in The Dandenongs as the venue for their medieval wedding ceremony. Dell walked down through an aisle of candles on the floor and the 45 minute ceremony conducted by Tricia Juster-Schofield included the Blessing of the Petals, a hand fastening ritual, offering of honey mead, the sword and broom ceremony (the broom is used to sweep away the past so the couple have a fresh start).
Some of the guests got into the spirit of the occasion and dressed accordingly. The light fades fast in the The Dandenongs at this of year but we managed to get some great Autumn shots.
